What I Learned from Hannibal Lechter:

Be Polite. Rudeness can have dire consequences. Be courteous and receptive to courtesy.

If you want someone to trust you, tell them a secret. You can easily establish trust with an embarrassing truth about yourself.

People covet what they see every day. We do not seek out things to covet. So be careful what "treasure" is tempting you. And what treasure of yours tempts someone else.

Some monsters are worse than others. The devil you don't know is the one to be wary of.

People don't always tell you what they are thinking. Words, kind or otherwise, are cheap.

Quid pro quo - Always something for something. For every action, there is an equal reaction. In dealing with people, unlike physics, the reaction is not always the opposite of the instigating force.

It takes time to get to know someone. Don't be in a hurry to get to there. Enjoy the discovery rather than trying to disect them with a blunt tool.
