When Somebody Loved Me

And keeping with the Disney inspired wistfulness, the poignant tale of Jessie. Who doesn't love a cowgirl?

Remembering the way things could have been
Funny how a tear and your beer can cloud... even alter... your recollection. But in the end, love is fickle. You can't choose who you love. And the corollary, you can't choose who you don't love.

Refresh with a Revisit...

I hate to go forever without posting (looking at you, MIO). And since I've been revisiting an older Weakerthans CD, waxing nostalgic... if 2 years can be consider nostalgia.

But before I spill the things I mean to hide away,
or gouge my eyes with platitudes of sentiment,
I'll drown the urge for permanence and certainty;
crouch down and scrawl my name with yours in wet cement.

Yup....Still happy with my Blog Name.

What's in a Name?

ATHENS, Greece - A Greek court has been asked to draw the line between the natives of the Aegean Sea island of Lesbos and the world's gay women.Three islanders from Lesbos — home of the ancient poet Sappho, who praised love between women — have taken a gay rights group to court for using the word lesbian in its name.

One of the plaintiffs said Wednesday that the name of the association, Homosexual and Lesbian Community of Greece, "insults the identity" of the people of Lesbos, who are also known as Lesbians.

"My sister can't say she is a Lesbian," said Dimitris Lambrou. "Our geographical designation has been usurped by certain ladies who have no connection whatsoever with Lesbos," he said.

The three plaintiffs are seeking to have the group barred from using "lesbian" in its name and filed a lawsuit on April 10.

Like Rodney King said... "Can't we all just get along?"

Frozen in Time, Part Deux

I saw my nemesis this weekend for the 1st time in several years. As he approached from the distance, I couldn't help but notice how old and tired he looks. His jet black hair has abandoned him for silver mane. His first words to me, ironically..."Man, you've gotten gray."

Scariest Woman in Hollywood

This is the scariest woman in Hollywood. I present Ms. Tilda Swinton. No, not because of the White Witch thing, but rather because how her on screen image is so delicate and demure, but off-screen.... je ne sais quoi.

She won an Oscar for her work in Michael Clayton. Channeling Jody Foster much?

Stole the show in Constantine, IMHO, as the archangel Gabriel.

Or is she channeling Charlize Theron from Monster?

I don't know... someting scary about chameleons. :)

And MIO, well she's outgrowing that shirt....

Me, I want the same thing I asked for last year...
